The Use of a Skyrora Tug Vehicle

On the day of the satellite deployment, as the countdown approached the public were warned to not take any pictures of the rocket, fearing it would fall into the sea. The tug vehicle can be outfitted with mast mounted on wheels and this will provide it with a singular way of movement. The mast can be deployed either manually or by remote control. If remote control is used, it is only a matter of pulling up the rope and deploying it. The first images we have captured of the Skyrora tug boat in action are of the launch and the recovery of the target on the beach. It is understood that the tug boat and its equipment suffered no damage and was able to sail back to Cyprus. In fact, the vessel was operational and able to help with the recovery operation, and to cover the huge skiesports required to support the deployment.

Skyrora Tug is a relatively modern concept, the first of its kind. It is a container on four legs with an extended platform at the front for transporting and disassembling the cargo. It can be outfitted with hydraulics for controlling the movements of the tug.

The design of the Skyrora tug boat means that the tug can be equipped with a crane attachment which can lift the actual whole vehicle off the sand. This allows it to then be easily placed on the beach or other vessel to be transported. On the other hand, if the crane is manually deployed, the tug can then drive itself and place it on the correct position. It is then capable of accessing and disassembling the whole vehicle without assistance.

The Skyrora tug vehicle is an excellent solution for short notice or emergency operations. It is a versatile tug boat that can be moved from one location to another very quickly. There are some drawbacks to the design however. Although it is very agile and able to easily move the aircraft in place, the increased weight will make steering difficult. This makes it difficult to navigate the tug boat into tight places where larger vessels cannot enter.

Due to its small size, the Skyrora tug boat is only able to handle lighter aircraft such as helicopters. Although larger ships such as passenger liners or oil platforms can also be handled, the limitations are due to the increased center of gravity and the increased drag during operation. In addition, the tug cannot handle vessels that are over two hundred tons as they will cause the vessel to tip over.

The lack of a self-steering ability limits the Skyrora tug to only handling narrow waterways. This limitation is important as there are areas where the speed of water will be too high to safely operate tug boats. Areas such as large river mouths, man made channels, and the Intracoastal Waterway. Some ships and barges can also accommodate tug boats, but the number is generally much lower. The great advantage of the Skyrora tug vehicle however, is that it is the ideal platform to operate other specialized equipment such as hydrofoils and control vessels.
