I am hoping it shows Jagex that you do not need intrusive MTX to make something that's extremely profitable in OSRS gold this era.I hope it is the stage they inevitable eliminate mtx out  of rs3, in which event Im convinced a great deal of players may go back to the game, increasing even further the subscription count.Probably not likely to get eliminated  completely. But I know RS3 players have desired an MTX reform and Jagex talked about doing this before making a few small adjustments and then deciding not to follow .

At least from what I've seen about the subreddit and such, most RS3 players aren't a lover of MTX but a lot of them would be much happier with it is that they toned down or  removed the P2W elements (e.g. purchasing exp) and pushed less MTX advertising (or had more real upgrades than week after week of MTX promos and little else).

Probably not likely to receive eliminated completely. But I know RS3 players have wanted an MTX reform and Jagex talked about doing this before making a few tiny adjustments and  then deciding not to Buy Rs gold follow through. You can also have coin drops, or untradeable  versions of gear, like godswords. It has been a while since I played and that I only got to enjoy 1500 or so total before switching to OSRS, but afaik there was not any way  to"directly" buy any of the material, only roll for it.
