The permanent glazes are the perfect solution to show off nice nails for several weeks without being constantly retouching them. However, removing these enamels is not as easy as removing a normal one. Don't worry, despite being a bit more tedious than usual, if done carefully you won't have any difficulties. Here are the steps to follow:

Make enamel porous

The first thing to keep in mind is that permanent nail polish is attached to the nail through a chemical reaction, that's why acetone doesn't work with them. To begin to eliminate it, you must first get it to acquire porosity. To do this, we will gently pass a file over the entire nail until the shine is eliminated.

Prepare and protect the skin and cuticles

The next step in removing permanent enamels involves using pure acetone, which is very aggressive on the skin and cuticles. What we will do to protect them is apply petroleum jelly carefully on hair supply distributors the cuticles and the skin around the nail.

Soften the enamel

Next, we will soak a bit of cotton in the acetone and place it on the nail taking care not to touch the skin (remember, pure acetone is very aggressive!). The soaked cotton should be kept touching the nail for at least 15 minutes, so a good solution is to use silicone sleeves that press during this time. If you do not have the covers on hand, or you are doing it at home, you can use aluminum foil, as long as you can keep the pressure on the nails.

Remove enamel

After 15 minutes lift the cotton a little to see how the process is going. Most of the polish will have dissolved, but if you see it necessary you can leave it on for a few more minutes. To remove any remaining polish, use manicure tools, a scraper or an orange stick. You can also use some cotton with acetone. It is important to avoid damaging the nail that you always remove the enamel from the base to the tip, in the direction of growth of the nail.

Moisturizes and repairs

Once you have finished removing the polish, you have to rehydrate your nails and hands well. Both permanent enamel and acetone can be very drying and damaging to the skin and cuticles. You may even see that your nails look different than usual. Don't worry, it's normal. Just apply some nourishing oil and moisturizer and they'll be like new again. Removing permanent polishes is not complicated or laborious, you just have to be patient and careful, as well as keep your nails hydrated and in good condition so as not to damage them more than necessary.
