This. EA's solution wasn't to try harder, effort to produce a better game, lower their pricing (NFL 2k5 was 19.95 in Christmas in comparison to Madden's $49.95), respectively, it was to eliminate the competition.

I'm awaiting a few ballsy competitor to make a mid-high budget over the top sports game like the NBA/NFL street franchise. The Bigs 2 did not even go that over the top and it had been amazing, but for regular vanilla sports games there's just so much that you can do when attempting to adhere to a'faithful depiction of ________'.

Ordinarily a string would have to buy Madden 21 coins brag about their brand new gameplay to draw people in, EA can not do this because they stick to the same principles for the identical league for the identical game.
