I recall how every fall, my father would fashion a pit on the floor after which gather branches and twigs to construct a fireplace. I recall him bending low within the pit, nursing the glowing embers to existence before the flames increased strong and warmed our chilled chair for fire pit. I recall the household collected round the fire during the night underneath the stars, laughing and telling tales as mother clicked lots of pictures.
