The objects glowing in the dark, made with my own hands, are painted with modern paints based on crystals of phosphors (these are special crystals capable of accumulating light, and then gradually giving it away).

How safe are these items?

Despite the phosphorescent effect, phosphor-based paints have nothing to do with phosphorus. They are not toxic, not radioactive.

Luminescent paints, namely the so-called these paints, have safety certificates, positive conclusions of the SES and the like.

They are absolutely safe for people, animals and plants!

How to make an object glow in the dark?

Luminophores are a kind of "trap" for light.

If you take the product out of the closet, box or other dark place, it will not glow, because in a dark place it has used up the entire charge of light. For the product to glow, it must be charged!

No additional charging equipment is required.

Phosphors absorb any light - light from the sun, a flashlight, lamps, ultraviolet lamps, just ordinary daylight, and with the onset of darkness they begin to give it away.

To charge the product, it is enough to put it in a lighted place for 20-40 minutes (walk along the street, put it on a windowsill, on a table, etc.).

Under an ultraviolet lamp, it takes 10-20 minutes to fully charge the phosphors. Moreover, in the light of such a lamp, the glow appears immediately, without any initial charging. Those. in a disco, club and other places with UV lighting, fluorescent objects will always glow brightly and be charged at the same time!

How long do these items glow?

The phosphors glow most brightly for the first 40 minutes.

In the first 20-30 minutes, about 50% of all light is given off, the rest of the energy is "stretched" for 2-3-6-10 hours.

The afterglow time depends on the color of the paint, the quality of the phosphor, as well as on the color of the glow, on the intensity and duration of charging with light, on the ambient temperature, on the color of the surface on which the paint is applied ...
Especially bright glow - immediately after charging with light.

In the interior it is easy to implement - turned off the light and got darkness. On the outside, the sun sets gradually, and the luminescent paint gradually reduces its charge level. When darkness falls, part of the energy has already been used up.

What is the service time of glow-in-the-dark items?

Phosphors do not lose their qualities over time, they can be charged an infinite number of times.
