Roadworthy and Safety Certificates - Caloundra

A roadworthy Ipswich or safety certificates ipswich required when you put your vehicle for sale, are transferring it to a new owner, or if you’re re-registering an unregistered vehicle. You’ll definitely need a transferring registration if you’re selling your vehicle. Your roadworthy inspection must carry an Approved Inspection Stations(AIS) and each state has different inspection guidelines. The code is detailed and strict so it should be when public safety is in question. This is the main reason for a roadworthy test and you should need a roadworthy certificate.

Well maintained vehicles are usually in the clear, but if your vehicle is an older model, has been modified, involved in an accident, there’s a higher chance you’ll fail in the test.

What Happens If You Fail A Roadworthy?

Failing in anything will be too frustrating. If you don’t pass a roadworthy test then you need to rectify the problems and return the car to be inspected again. If you don’t complete the repairs within a 14 day period, your partially completed RWC is cancelled and you’re required to have a new full inspection conducted.

Depending on the repairs this can also become a costly task. Try not to take out or fail in very minor things otherwise the inspector will do their job and look out for the safety of road users. In case you're selling your vehicle, it’s best to have your roadworthy certificate in place before you decide on your asking price. There are some common reasons for failing a roadworthy test.
