What is the Montessori education system?

The Montessori schooling framework is based on the possibility that kids learn best when the environment upholds the regular longing to get abilities and information.

Later Montessori adapted her education method to preschool children and further adapted her approach to elementary and junior high school students.

So, what does a Montessori school system actually consist of?

A Montessori school comprises various elements and has a great impact on the brain development of children. Let’s see what these elements are-

  1. Mixed-age-

In a real Montessori school, there are children of different ages in the same classroom." The idea here is that children learn in different fields at different paces. A  four years old child may learn to read, but another child may explode into reading at the age of 5 years. Children also tend to learn a lot from their more mature peers which is not possible in a single-age classroom. So basically in a Montessori classroom, children of mixed ages up to 3 years and more are grouped together for promoting a sense of socialization, respect, and solidarity among them naturally. 

2.  A long, uninterrupted period in which children choose their tasks-

The Montessori classroom is designed to facilitate independent learning and exploration. It's a spacious, tidy, open, peaceful, simple, and respectful environment with muted tones and minimal visualization. All the elements used in the Montessori classroom exist for the purpose and help the child grow. The curriculum covers practical life disciplines, sensory, math, language, and cultural teachings.

Montessori daycare in Surrey has a significant portion of the time devoted to children working on the materials of their choice. This is the "freedom" part of the equation but is considered "within limits" because all the activities are chosen from the structured options that were already selected by the teacher purposefully.
