Restart your Mac and enter an incorrect password three times in the login window. You will see the password hint and an option to reset your account password with Apple ID
Click the little button to the right
Enter your Apple ID and password and click Reset Password
A warning is displayed if there are changes in the keyring that stores frequently used passwords. Click OK to continue
Enter a new password and set up a hint for it
Click Reset Password again
