NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Review: The Good, The Bad, And The Most Important Thing
Many are wondering if it's worthwhile to buy the next-generation version of NBA 2K21 if they already own it on PlayStation 4 or NBA 2K21 MT even Xbox One, or even if the game is any good at all. I have played with a ton of NBA 2K21 on current-gen, but I admit, I experienced it with one foot out the door in anticipation of this next-gen release. I have been lucky enough to gain access to this next-gen version for awhile, and I've already logged an obscene amount of hours on it in a number of modes.
Let's take a peek at the good, bad and the base line with all the next-generation variation of NBA 2K21. Mainly Beautiful Visuals - Some of the leaves and screenshots you can pull are simply wonderful. Even screens of items, legs, hands, shoes, etc. will sometimes cause an even more double take than we have seen in previous matches. I'd heard one of those console makers felt 2K was the very beautiful next-gen match, and I could see why. With the exception of a few factors--that I'll discuss soon --2K on next-gen looks phenomenal. Most of the videos you will see on YouTube do not do the sport justice because of system limitations for capturing. It looks fantastic on a 4K screen with HDR and the right color balance.
Smoothest Animations Ever in a Basketball Game - The beauty goes beyond shots. Viewing the players and objects move on the court is an wonderful visual. I felt as though I was in that iconic scene in American Beauty when Wes Bentley is describing that floating plastic bag. It seems a little over-dramatic, but fundamental movements and physics like that in 2K are awe-inspiring. Stunning Environments - To place a bow on the visual love, I'd be remiss if I did not mention the surroundings. They are as alive as I've ever seen in any sports movie game. It seems just like the arenas are a living organism and if you've ever been to a live NBA game, you realize how busy the construction is all the time that the players are on the field playing, and the training team are doing their thing on the sidelines. 2K21 on next-gen correctly captures that bustle and hustle, and it is best appreciated throughout the pre-game festivities.
Inconsistent Renders - a few of the participant renders are directly port ups out of current-gen, and a fantastic number of them weren't all that true on these consoles. A few of the players with darker complexions have been baked to a level which makes them look almost incredibly dark. Perhaps some of this is really a product of HDR that may accentuate the black levels of the picture, but players like Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics and Taurean Prince of the Brooklyn Nets come to mind with this matter. That said, it seems help is on the way with gamers being scanned. Still a Good quantity of Clipping - Among the things I'd expected to see less of on next-gen was clipping. Sad to say, the next-gen version of NBA 2K21 has as much passthrough as the current-gen edition. Do not get me wrong, I understand it is virtually impossible to remove this entirely. However, because it is such a commonly referenced issue, I felt that I needed to inform everyone who has to play the sport, that clipping is nonetheless present.
More than ever, I could feel the difference between bigger men and the smaller guards. Players run, dribble, jump and manage otherwise. This is further improved on the PlayStation 5 due to the haptic feedback on the control. 2K might have found the most balanced and realistic rebounding system they have had in history. The best method for me to represent this feature of the game is to Cheap NBA 2K MT Coins say, every moment a rally goes to a player, I feel as though I understand how they came down with the ball. There are two areas of the gameplay that I love more than others. The Impact Engine is one of these. The amount of contact dunks, chucks, and other more subtle flashes in the sport help to make some of the most exciting sequences in the sport. There are some outstanding gameplay minutes that stem out of this upgrade which are only possible on the next-gen version.
