  • Racha-Lechkhumi

It is one of the smallest Georgian wine regions which is different from other vineyards and covers a small part of the territory. However, this region produces high-quality and distinctive types of wines. The most important wines from this region are Khvanchkara and Usaxelouri wines. Khvanchkara is a semi-sweet red wine mix of Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli. This region is also popular for producing Tvishi wines from Imeretian grape Tsolokouri which is a semi-sweet wine with golden yellow color, balanced acidity, and peach and melon flavour.

 

  • Meskheti

It is the highest mountainous region in the south part of Georgia. In this region, mostly vineyards are planted on terraces at 900 to 1700 m in the valleys of the Mtkvari river.

It is one of the archaic winemaking regions. It was paused for some centuries due to the Turkish invasion in the 16th century. But now, few small families produces Meskhetian wines with several grape varieties like Akhaltsikhuri Tetri, Meskhuri Mtsvane, Meskhuri Saphere, etc.
