I've heard many stories about the legality of downloading Youtube videos, and then converting them into offline files to be saved on your own laptop. I've been following the development and being brought to court by a few online mp3 converters to help users around the world. I'd like to share my personal experience. While I don’t encourage anyone to make the same mistake as me, I can see no harm in it. I can also see the benefits of"DVRing" videos off Youtube and watching them later.
I am the main source of my own benefit. I was able to complete my Bachelors College degree in just three years, while working two full-time jobs to support our family. I'm not talking about the Devry miracle or any other frenzied online college. I went to my local college and was offered no special programs or special treatment either, I paid the same as other students and got help from states the same way as other students.... To keep it short, here's a list of what I did to reduce the time I needed to spend studying..
My job consisted mainly of sitting and walking around the building checking for safety. That's right. It was nothing more than a glorified job of a guard. However I was not averse to it because it provided me with ample time. Amazingly, online school is available 24 hours a day. I was able to focus on my assignments and submit them at 3:00 in the morning. Then, I realized that a lot of these lectures are available on Youtube and Vimeo. The titles were special, so they did not draw pedestrians. Only those with access URLs were able to see what was contained.
So I began to copy those videos to my computer prior to going to work. Internet was extremely slow in some instances, because of the remote location of work sites. Therefore, for proper study sessions, I would have to have whole video on my laptop prior to when I could have time off at work. Otherwise, a couple of these sessions would be ruined due to block of workflow when internet disappeared or didn't show up.. That's why the YouTube to MP4 online converter did its work. Just copy Youtube URL onto my laptop's memory card, then I would navigate the converter's website and copy the URL, click the submit button and then sit for a while. It will then display a range of download options. They can be sorted according to size or by audio. I could then convert the YouTube video to MP3 or wait until the Mp4 converter is available. It offers several options for downloading videos mp4.

I was able to make the most of my spare time with lectures that I could access via my laptop. This helped me finish my Bachelor in IT with about 2 semesters earlier than other students. I'm hoping that my next job will allow me to learn during my time. It's very rewarding.
