It's something I've learned by trial and error. My mom has been on my back all weeklong, telling me to make this list and to keep that in mind. I was ecstatic about my first camping trip with her grandkids as well as my mom however she was constantly advising me on how to prepare. I'm not a fan of my mother's talking. Listening to her lectures make me nervous. This was a huge mistake, as I've found out the following day... or two..

We left in the car with the intention to drive it all the way to the campground. I was determined to recreate the same rustic experience as my father and so I decided to go to a remote location that turned out to be located in a huge no-service zone. It meant our smartphones were out-of-service and we were the only camping in the area. I'm not judging you I was hoping to enjoy a wonderful getaway from work.. We spent three days in the wild environment, with nature.. Within 24 hours, we were driving to home.
What next? We didn't have Internet and we didn't have bars, and we didn't have anything... I had brought my laptop, along with some online games. However, it was difficult to remove it from the bag. I had a beautiful backdrop for the trees to watch the tiny projector I took with me for nice big-screen movies. But without Internet to access Hulu or Netflix. Netflix or Disney+.. What an absolute mess.. My kids were a total pain to watch. Their only desire was to go through their messages, emails and keep track of their school stuff, etc. We packed and returned to our hotel. My kids made sounds similar to little piglets munching delicious food as they emerged from the WiFi-free zone. Seriously... Do not think I'm being naive I love my children.. This was just embarrassing. They groaned and squealed when their phones started to sound a beep, signalling new messages on their phones.

Since then, I've learned how to plan better and stay out of an area without internet access and no roaming. However, on our long journey by boat to our destination I realized that I needed two laptops and two tablets to keep me occupied. My tablet has Hulu offline videos on one hand, and Netflix movies on the other. My laptop contains all my music videos and movies. I have over 600 hours worth of material, including complete episodes from the South Park, Friends, Will & Grace seasons, and additional episodes.
There are many videos that kids will like. I downloaded music videos from Youtube and converted them into formats like mp3 and mp4 to listen and watch. Through this web-based application I was able to download videos to my laptop. After that, I could watch them offline with just electricity (if required). I DVR many movies, TV Shows, as well as online lectures and so on., so I save them as mp4 files on my laptop. Then, I am able to play them using VLC/KMP or other software that supports video files.
4k is another aspect I insist on. Have you ever seen? Video is crystal clear. It's amazing. I would highly recommend it. Televisions that have 4K picture support come with incredible software that enhances and processes the image. Even though the old video might not look very great, thanks to its squarish blocky recording but the TV makes it look amazing and offers a modern smooth video stream. Highly recommended for all ages!
