The Tinkerer, with his new microwave technology, restored the life force of the girl to life and enabled her to throw herself into a pit at the center of town, killing herself in the procedure. Utilizing the opportunity for escape supplied from the Fantastic Four's disappearance, the Tinkerer escaped from Doom's fortress. Then he joined forces with various members of the wonderful Four, who were undergoing a variety of transformations because of their journeys across time and space, and merged them into the New Four.
