Flow painting, also known as flow painting or pouring painting, is a method of painting in which paint is sprayed or flowed over the surface of the workpiece. It is an improvement of dip coating method. Although some devices need to be added, it is an economical and efficient coating method suitable for mass production line. It is used by pressure or gravity through the nozzle, the paint poured on the object. It differs from spraying in that the paint is not dispersed as a mist but in the form of a flow, like the water column of a fountain. In this method, the painted object is placed on the transfer device and passes through the spray chamber equipped with a nozzle at a certain rate. The excess paint is recovered in the paint tank, pumped away and reused.

The advantages of this coating method are as follows: less coating, thicker and more uniform coating, coating can be constructed by two components, also can be used with light curing coating; It is suitable for the hollow container which can not be immersed because of floating, or the coating object with complex shape. It is especially effective for the coating of large objects, long pipe fittings and the object with complex structure, which improves the working efficiency. Its shortcoming is: solvent volatilization consumption is big, the coating that volatilization is quick at the beginning is not suitable, basically be used at plane coating, cannot coating vertical plane; Soft objects, such as paper and leather, need to be stretched on the steel plate or plywood before construction, it is difficult to form a very thin film; Perfect safety and fire prevention facilities are needed.
