Hafiz is a word that means guard against forgetting or the keeper. From an Islamic point of view, a person who memorizes the complete Holy Quran is a Hafiz. Memorizing the Quran is not an easy task, and a person has to work very hard to achieve this milestone. Due to this reason, Allah SWT has given many rewards for becoming Hafiz of the Quran. You can become Hafiz at any age but the best time to memorize is at a young age because it is convenient to remember at that stage of life that's why children and young students are mostly studying in madaris to Hifz Quran.

Now with the change in time and technology advancements, most people are turning toward online Quran memorization because it is more convenient to take Quran classes while staying at home and save your time and energy at the same time. You can enrol yourself in an online Quran memorization course after visiting the websites of different intuitions. Many institutions are providing their services through the internet, and they are spreading teachings of Islam in the whole world.

Rewards of a Hafiz in the light of Ahadith:

It is a true blessing of Allah SWT on the people who learn Quran and spread it to other people. But a Hafiz is more blessed because there are many rewards for him. Some of them are mentioned below:

  • Crown for the parents of Hafiz:

This hadith is written in Mishkatul Masabeeh, p. 186 on the authority of Musnad Ahmad and the Sunan of Abu Dawood that describe the best reward for the parents of a Hafiz on the Day of Judgment and the words are:

“Whosoever learns the Quran and practices upon what’s in it then on the Day of Judgement his parents will be made to wear a crown which will be more radiant than the sun if it were to be in your home, so what do you think of the person who has practised upon it?”

This beautiful Hadees reflects upon the mercy of Allah on that person and his parents. It is also a matter of honour for the parents of a Hafiz e Quran, so they will be separated from other people on that Day by wearing a crown on their heads which will be brighter than the sun.

  • The final station of Jannah:

“Hazrat Abdullah bin Amar narrates from the Holy Prophet that He said: It will be told to a Hafiz of the Holy Quran that keep reciting the Holy Quran and keep ascending the stations of Jannah. Recite with Tarteel (slowly, following the rules of recitation) the way you recited in the World because your final station (of Jannah) will be where you were when you recite the last verse of the Holy Quran.”

[Musnad Ahmad – 6508]

This Hadees portrays the importance and reward for Hafiz-e-Quran. When that person will start reciting the Quran, he will begin traveling towards the higher ranks of Jannah. He will attain the top rank in Jannah after completing Quran. This Hadees also tells us about the importance of reciting the Quran at a slow speed as the Hafiz will move to more above the station in Jannah because of slow recitation.

  • Companion of Angels in Jannah:

The person who memorizes Quran and acts upon the instructions given by Allah SWT in it then will be with the angels, accompanying them in Jannah.

This beautiful Hadees is narrated by ‘Aa’ishah (RA) that the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of ALLAH be upon Him) said: “The one who recites the Qur'an and learns it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven) and the one who exerts himself to learn the Qur'an by heart and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward.”

 (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4653; Muslim, 798)

In this Hadees, two different rewards are for Hafiz. Firstly, s/he will be with the most honoured and pious people in Jannah having greater ranks there. Secondly, the person who wants to learn Quran by heart and it is difficult for him to recite the Holy Book, then there is a double reward for such person from Allah SWT.

There are also many other rewards for the person who Hifz Quran, recites it regularly, and acts upon the teachings of Islam that is why every Muslim must learn about the religion as much as possible.
