The vast majority of window installers do not make any windows. Instead, they buy it from specialized commercial manufacturers. Some of these commercial manufacturers work incredibly closely with their customers (your installer), with product training, installation support, pricing and marketing programs.

Many installers really take pride in their relationships with the factories that make your new windows and you can ask them to disclose the supplier or system.

There is now an option for you to buy your new windows directly from some of the manufacturers and get the builder that suits them. The obvious advantage is that you save money although you are not likely to get the same warranty and support that you would get with a full supply and installation service WDMA.

Understanding the "system" of your window
The window system is the brand, aluminum profiles and accessories. And from within the system, too, the window is displayed on the market, security performance or weather testing. Aluminum window system companies invest significant sums in designing some of the best aluminum windows.

Then, the system including aluminum profiles, accessories and components is supplied by the systems company to its network of manufacturers. At the same time, these manufacturers are trained and supported by the Continuous Systems Corporation.

Your relationship with your supplier and installer. They work with the manufacturer and suppliers who in turn work with the systems company.

There are some exceptions to this with some system companies that also manufacture their own windows as suppliers. Origin is one of the most popular brands of windows as well as sliding and folding doors that work this way. Anglian and Everest, two of the biggest names are not systems companies by having their windows buy profiles from a systems company.

What does this mean for you? These system companies often come with decades of aluminum experience and are often part of global groups. Schuco and Reynaers are an excellent example of two systems companies that offer some of the best aluminum windows available, manufactured through their network of manufacturers.

Windows for newly built homes and apartments
Buying a new home or apartment? They often come with brands that you might not see in a showroom. Comar Aluminum, Senior Architectural, Kawneer, Aluk or Technal are examples of system companies whose aluminum doors and windows are found in many newly built apartments and homes.

Commercial windows used by developers are no different from residential windows in terms of specifications, security and standards.
