The Peugeot e-2008 small electric SUV
For the first time in history, the French brand has an electric SUV. This is the Peugeot e-2008, a version of the second generation of 2008 that comes with a 100 kW (136 hp) engine and a torque of 260 Nm. It is powered by 50 kWh batteries, which promise to be able to move up to 310 km without the need to recharge to continue the journey.
To recharge it, you need to be connected to the electricity grid for 16 hours in a conventional outlet. This is not very operational, so it is advisable to install a wallbox (11 kW three-phase or 7.4 kW single-phase) to reduce the time to 5 hours and 15 minutes or 8 hours, respectively. We can also make use of 100 kW public chargers, where you can charge 80% of the battery in 30 minutes. For the most sceptical, the manufacturer offers a guarantee of 8 years or 160,000 km for the battery, which must then have at least 70% of its charge capacity.
The Peugeot e-2008 is somewhat different from other models in the range, it has a two-tone lion logo, which varies in colour depending on where you look at it, and its grille has been painted in the body colour, in addition to the e-badges in different places
Inside you can find specific information on energy flows on the central display or the instrumentation. There are different energy recovery modes. Remarkable that the trunk is not reduced in this version and maintains the 434-litre capacity.
It can be chosen with four trim levels, from the simple Allure to the GT, to the Allure and the GT Line. The brand also offers advice to install a charging point (Easy Charge), a route planner (Easy-Move), as well as the MyPeugeot application, which allows you to start or stop charging at any time or check the charge level from distance.
